Converting Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) to Bitmap Image File (BMP) involves a transformation between two specialized encoding specifications. GIF provides frame-by-frame timed animation with 1-bit transparency and an indexed 256-color palette, compressed using patent-free LZW encoding.
BMP stores arbitrary rectangular raster images with exact pixel matrices, header structures, and optional color tables without lossy filtering.
